The catalogue for an exhibition in Tokyo of work by Jennifer Bartlett. These works came out of a commission Bartlett was offered by Homan-Ji Temple in Choshi-shi, Japan. She produced 316 individual paintings on paper and installed them directly onto paneled sections of the Buddhist temple ceiling. Inspired by this work, she then produced a suite of 112 paintings on handmade mulberry paper, working with Japanese pigments and squares of gold, silver and platinum leaf over her traditional grids. This volume reproduces the entire seven "cycles" of 16 works per cycle, four pieces per page. Unpaginated [36 pages]; 28 color plates; 10 x 9.75 inches. Biography/exhibition history.
